Environmental Management

Health, Safety and Environmental Manager Sheffield £50,000 - £60,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Are you passionate about shaping a culture of safety and quality in a flexible logistics environment? Do you have experience driving compliance across fleet operations, depots, and workshops? Are you looking for a role where you can directly influence safety culture in a well-established, family-run UK transport business?

This is a key role within a long-standing UK road haulage and logistics operator, responsible for supporting safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across a busy operational fleet and depot network. You'll work closely with operational leaders to ensure standards are not only met, but consistently improved across day to day transport activities.

What can you expect in this role?
  • Take ownership of health, safety and environmental standards across transport, warehousing, and workshop operations
  • Ensure full compliance with UK legislation, operator licence requirements, and industry standards
  • Lead investigations, audits, inspections and corrective actions across site and fleet activity
  • Work closely with drivers, workshop teams, and depot management to embed practical, behaviour led safety standards
  • Support accident reduction, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business
What does this role offer you?
  • Direct impact on safety performance across a busy, operational logistics environment
  • Close working relationship with senior leadership in a hands on, visible role
  • Autonomy to shape systems, standards, and culture on the ground
  • Salary of £50,000 - £60,000 DOE, plus benefits
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety or HSE role within logistics, transport, warehousing, or a similar operational environment
  • Strong understanding of compliance, fleet operations, and risk management in a transport setting
  • Comfortable working with operational teams, drivers, and workshop environments
  • Practical, hands on approach with the ability to influence behaviour on site
