We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Ecologist with 2-3 years' professional experience to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your ecological career, working on a diverse range of projects. You will support the delivery of ecological surveys, assessments, and reports.
Responsibilities- Assisting with and leading a range of protected species and habitat surveys (e.g. bats, reptiles, great crested newts, birds)
- Supporting the preparation of technical reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, and method statements
- Undertaking data analysis and contributing to project deliverables
- Assisting with licence applications and mitigation strategies
- Carrying out site walkovers and assisting with habitat assessments
- Supporting project management and ensuring work is delivered on time
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- 2-3 years' relevant consultancy or industry experience (including placements or graduate roles)
- Good knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
- Experience supporting ecological surveys and report writing
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Proactive, with a willingness to learn and develop
- A full UK driving licence
- Protected species survey licences e.g. bat or great crested newt
- Membership of CIEEM (or working towards)
- Experience with GIS software

Core working hours are Monday - Friday 9.00am - 17.30pm.
This is a permanent full-time position based on 37.5 hours (Monday - Friday) however we're fully open to discussing part-time flexible working requirements. We also operate a 'Smart Working' policy, enabling our employees to enjoy a work/life balance.
