Job Overview

Shape the future of our cities and environments as part of a multidisciplinary team working on major infrastructure projects. This role offers flexibility and support for career development.

Responsibilities
  • Support nationally important infrastructure projects, manage project programmes and budgets.
  • Plan and undertake field surveys; analyse and interpret survey results.
  • Design and coordinate ecological mitigation.
  • Author ecological reports and licence applications.
  • Actively engage with other areas of the business and provide innovation on projects and within the ecology team.
  • Receive tailored mentoring and support to achieve career goals; training courses are reviewed with a mentor and Practice Manager.
Qualifications
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or active pursuit towards membership.
  • Strong botanical skills, ideally with a Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) level 4 or equivalent botanical ability.
  • Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain legislation, policy and methods; experience conducting feasibility, baseline and post works BNG assessments.
  • Experience authoring Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs), Preliminary Ecological Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments.
  • Strong understanding of UK habitat surveys, habitat condition assessments and the Defra Biodiversity Metric.
  • Valid UK/EEC driving licence.
Security Clearance

This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of UK residency of 5 years or longer.
