Ecologist

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid) Salary: £30,500 - £34,500

Our client is a well established, employee owned environmental consultancy delivering ecology and sustainability projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Ecologist to join their Glasgow based team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including renewable energy, habitat restoration, biodiversity enhancement and infrastructure developments, while receiving ongoing support for your professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake ecological desk studies and data collection.
  • Plan and carry out ecological field surveys across the UK.
  • Analyse ecological data and contribute to technical reporting.
  • Support protected species and habitat assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with ecologists and environmental specialists.
  • Contribute to wider project and business development activities.
Requirements

Essential

  • Knowledge of UK wildlife and ecology.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel and undertake occasional overnight stays.
  • Flexibility to work seasonal survey hours when required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable

  • Ecological field survey experience.
  • Knowledge of UK habitats and protected species.
  • Experience in upland environments.
  • 4x4 driving experience.
