We are recruiting for an experienced Sustainability Manager to join one of the UK's leading privately-owned construction contractors. With an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial, industrial, high rise residential and mixed-use developments, our client is committed to embedding sustainability into every stage of project delivery.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the company's ambitious environmental and Net Zero Carbon objectives while working on prestigious projects across the UK.
The Role
Working closely with estimating, design, project teams, clients and consultants, you'll ensure sustainability requirements are understood, delivered and maintained from tender stage through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities

Review client documentation and identify sustainability and BREEAM requirements.

Support estimating teams to ensure sustainability requirements are accurately costed.

Liaise with client design teams throughout the bid process.

Incorporate sustainability requirements into tender documentation for the supply chain.

Attend client and subcontractor tender interviews.

Ensure projects achieve the required BREEAM targets, including the 5% design buffer.

Manage sustainability documentation from subcontractors.

Coordinate with clients and consultants on BREEAM, carbon and environmental requirements.

Support Design Managers with BREEAM compliance and project sustainability objectives.

Assist with site sustainability systems, including Biosite and SmartWaste.

Promote and monitor compliance with company sustainability initiatives, including Alternative Fuels, Waste Management and Net Zero Carbon targets.
About You
You'll have experience in a sustainability role within the construction industry and a strong understanding of BREEAM and sustainable construction practices. You'll be an excellent communicator, capable of building strong relationships with clients, consultants and project teams, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
