We're supporting an innovative, high-growth organisation operating within the advanced technology and industrial engineering sector to recruit a Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager. As the business continues to expand its operational capabilities, this is an opportunity to play a key role in developing and embedding effective health, safety and environmental practices across its facilities and project operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who can implement practical, proportionate safety controls while supporting innovation and business growth.

The successful Health, Safety and Environment Manager will:

• Build and maintain a risk-based safety management system, including SOPs, SSOW, risk assessments and key regulatory assessments (e.g., COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER, LOLER, LEV).
• Lead regular site inspections, drive actions to closure, and manage robust incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Own critical site systems including permit-to-work and fire safety, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as operations evolve.
• Coordinate statutory inspections/examinations and support occupational health and surveillance programmes (noise, vibration, respiratory).
• Lead reporting to senior leadership using meaningful leading/lagging indicators and continuous improvement cycles.

The successful candidate will have:

• A strong background in health and safety within an R&D, workshop, laboratory or manufacturing setting.
• Practical experience implementing safety controls in a pragmatic, "get it done" environment.
• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and/or process safety credentials (desirable).
• Working knowledge of high-hazard compliance areas such as DSEAR, COSHH and PSSR (desirable).
