Senior Ecologist - South West Region (Hybrid)
We have an opportunity for a Senior Ecologist to lead projects across the South West region, based in Exeter, Bristol or Cirencester with a hybrid working model.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage preliminary ecology appraisals, ecological impact assessments, habitats regulations assessments and mitigation strategy development.
- Scope, design and conduct ecological surveys, including extended Phase I/UKHabs and specialised species surveys (especially bats, holding at least a Level 2 Bat Mitigation licence).
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, securing projects and securing future opportunities for the team.
- Mentor emerging consultants and graduates.
- Deliver high quality reports, reviews and presentations to clients, statutory bodies and LPAs.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and exceed client expectations.
- Conduct business development activities to secure own projects.
- Top academic qualifications in ecology or biological sciences.
- CIEEM member working towards Chartership.
- In depth knowledge of legislative and planning policy framework.
- Extensive survey skills, including Level 2 Bat Mitigation licence.
- Experience liaising with clients, statutory bodies and LPAs.
- Proficient verbal and written communication.
- Robust report writing and reviewing capabilities.
- Exceptional project management skills with mentoring experience.
- Track record in business development and securing projects.
- Full UK driving licence.
