Senior Ecologist - South West Region (Hybrid)

We have an opportunity for a Senior Ecologist to lead projects across the South West region, based in Exeter, Bristol or Cirencester with a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage preliminary ecology appraisals, ecological impact assessments, habitats regulations assessments and mitigation strategy development.
  • Scope, design and conduct ecological surveys, including extended Phase I/UKHabs and specialised species surveys (especially bats, holding at least a Level 2 Bat Mitigation licence).
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, securing projects and securing future opportunities for the team.
  • Mentor emerging consultants and graduates.
  • Deliver high quality reports, reviews and presentations to clients, statutory bodies and LPAs.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and exceed client expectations.
  • Conduct business development activities to secure own projects.
Qualifications
  • Top academic qualifications in ecology or biological sciences.
  • CIEEM member working towards Chartership.
  • In depth knowledge of legislative and planning policy framework.
  • Extensive survey skills, including Level 2 Bat Mitigation licence.
  • Experience liaising with clients, statutory bodies and LPAs.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication.
  • Robust report writing and reviewing capabilities.
  • Exceptional project management skills with mentoring experience.
  • Track record in business development and securing projects.
  • Full UK driving licence.
