Environmental Project Manager (Landscape)
As an Environmental Project Manager, you will be responsible for management of landscape deliverables for handover and completion, including schedules, general arrangement drawings, landscape & visual assessments and management & maintenance plans. You will technically assist and support the landscape delivery team in the management of technical issues arising from site. You will manage and coordinate any field change requests arising from the construction and delivery team impacting the landscape design.
Part of this role is to undertake technical reviews of landscape deliverables, ensuring compliance with the project's technical requirements, including ES and Undertakings and Assurances. You will be responsible for the management of the production of Ecological Site Management Plans for issue to HS2. You will engage with the local authority and stakeholders to ensure that the implemented design meets consent and environmental minimum requirements. You will assist in the management of contract communications and chair risk reduction meetings to assist in their resolution.
In addition, you will provide technical expertise ensuring that the delivery, engineering and any supply chain teams understand the environmental aspects and impacts and what action is required of them. You will assist with the implementation of BS EN ISO14001 certification and audit against the standard and internal procedures and support supply chain activities to raise environmental and sustainability awareness. You will also work in collaboration with the wider Environmental Team, client, designers, community, stakeholder and public relations managers to ensure the programme is achieved. You will lead by example and promote good practice relating to environmental management & sustainability, sharing best practice and learning.
Key Skills and Qualifications- Degree (or similar) level qualification in landscape/engineering/environment or another relevant field.
- Extensive experience in a similar role.
- Chartered Member of an appropriate professional body desired (e.g. Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute).
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience of influencing and negotiating with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to extract key points and communicate this to others.
- Experience of driving improvements to systems and processes.
- Good inter-personal skills and ability to develop and maintain good relationships and networks.
- Knowledge and use of NEC3 contracts desirable.
- HS2 experience would be preferable.
- You must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
