Help Shape the Future of Construction Skills

The Verdancy Group, through our Apex Training Centres, is expanding its team of trainers and assessors as demand for sustainable construction, retrofit and green skills continues to grow across the UK.

We're looking for experienced construction professionals who want to use their
practical industry knowledge to help develop the next generation of skilled
tradespeople.

You don't need to be an experienced trainer or hold a teaching qualification.

If you have strong occupational experience in construction, retrofit or building fabric and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others, we'll support you to develop the training and assessment skills needed for the role.

Who we're looking for:
We're interested in experienced wet-trade professionals with significant practical experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • External Wall Insulation (EWI)
  • Internal Wall Insulation (IWI)
  • External Wall Insulation systems and render finishes (EWPA)
  • Internal and external plastering and rendering
  • Insulated render systems
  • Internal wall and solid wall insulation
  • Insulated plasterboard and thermal lining systems
  • Lime plastering and traditional finishes
  • Retrofit-related wet trades and building fabric improvements

You don't need experience across every area.

  • We're particularly interested in professionals who can bring strong technical expertise, practical installation experience and an understanding of the requirements of their own trade or specialism.
  • Experience working on domestic retrofit projects and with different insulation, render and plaster systems is highly desirable.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver safe, engaging and high-quality training and assessment across sustainable construction trade qualifications.
  • Deliver and assess regulated qualifications including SVQs, NVQs, SCQF Awards and employer-led programmes.
  • Carry out workplace assessment, site visits and on-site verification.
Support learners from entry level through to Experienced Worker routes.
  • Promote retrofit best practice, health and safety and PAS 2035 principles.
  • Contribute to curriculum and programme development.
  • Represent The Verdancy Group and Apex Training with employers and partners.

Experienced construction professional? You don't need a teaching qualification.

If you've built your career on site and are now interested in training and developing others, we'd like to hear from you.

We'll support suitable candidates to gain the relevant training, teaching or assessment qualifications required for the role.

Existing A1, TAQA, L&D9DI, IQA or similar qualifications are advantageous, as is previous experience delivering SVQs, NVQs or workplace assessments.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive hourly and daily rates
  • Flexible associate/freelance working
  • Opportunities to work around your existing commitments
  • Support towards relevant training and assessment qualifications
  • Ongoing CPD and professional development
  • Access to industry-standard training facilities
