My client is looking for an Assistant Energy & Sustainability Consultant - SAP Assessments to join its growing energy consultancy team. You will take a hands-on role delivering SAP calculations for new-build and refurbishment projects, working alongside experienced consultants and receiving extensive training to develop your technical expertise.
You will also have the opportunity to expand your knowledge into overheating assessments, energy statements, thermal modelling and commercial energy assessment work.

My client provides environmental and energy consultancy services to clients throughout the South East, covering energy assessment, testing, sustainability and technical analysis.
Joining as an Assistant Energy & Sustainability Consultant - SAP Assessments, you will become part of a collaborative consultancy where you will be encouraged to develop your technical knowledge and take increasing responsibility for projects as your experience grows.

What you will be doing
Your primary focus will be completing accurate and compliant SAP assessments for residential developments, supporting clients through the energy and Building Regulations requirements of their projects.
You will:
Carry out SAP assessments for new-build residential developments and refurbishment projects.
Produce SAP calculations and associated compliance documentation.
Generate Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).
Complete U-value calculations to support compliant and energy-efficient building designs.
Undertake Home Energy Model (HEM) evaluations as requirements develop.
Carry out simplified Part O overheating assessments for residential properties.
Assist with TM59 dynamic thermal modelling in accordance with CIBSE guidance.
Support the preparation of Energy Statements for planning applications and development projects.
Work with senior consultants to understand and contribute to bespoke thermal bridging calculations and condensation risk assessments.
Develop your knowledge of RdSAP assessments for existing dwellings.
Gain exposure to SBEM assessments for commercial buildings, including Level 3 and Level 4 modelling.
Support thermal imaging surveys and other technical consultancy activities.
Work closely with consultants and the wider team to deliver projects efficiently and provide a high standard of service to clients.
As your experience develops, you will have the opportunity to take greater ownership of projects and broaden your expertise across energy, sustainability and building performance consultancy.
What you will bring
To succeed as an Assistant Energy & Sustainability Consultant - SAP Assessments, you will ideally be a qualified On-Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) with practical experience completing SAP assessments.
You will need:
OCDEA qualification.
Experience completing SAP assessments for new-build and/or refurbishment projects.
The ability to complete U-value calculations.
A good understanding of residential energy compliance and Building Regulations, particularly Part L and Part O.
GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, in Maths and English.
Good analytical and numerical skills.
The ability to manage technical information accurately and work effectively as part of a consultancy team.
Experience or knowledge of SBEM modelling at Level 3 or Level 4, RdSAP methodology, thermal bridging calculations, condensation risk assessments, local planning policies or Energy Statements would be beneficial, but wider training and development opportunities are available.
